Fall Greetings from Stillpoint... Living in Balance
Every season evokes from us familiar thoughts, feelings, aromas, etc. As educators, the fall is reminiscent of our 30+ years in the public education system – either as students or as teachers. And so, this fall we are returning as both. We, at Stillpoint, will be continuing our education by attending an advanced level Cranial Sacral training workshop in Colorado as well as tapping into our gifts of teaching, by offering our Aromatherapy Workshop the weekend of October 16-18th here in Sedona. We are looking forward to sharing our accumulated knowledge with others who are interested in learning. We always like to stay on the leading edge of things and sharing that space with others who are like minded.

Sedona Massage Session Spotlight: Cranial Balancing
We are excited to offer a new Stillpoint Original Session called Cranial Balancing. This powerful session combines Cranial Sacral Therapy and our Stillpoint Chakra Balancing/Psychic Healing. You will experience complete energetic balancing in this session. The emphasis of this session is to help release old programs and patterns that do not serve you and that may be the underlying patterns of disease and fragmentation in both body and mind. We read the story of the body, identify places where issues are held, assist the body to release them, and encourage new healthy patterns to emerge. The body's own self-healing and self-regulating capabilities are therefore enhanced.

Essential Oil Spotlight
The essential oil group spotlight is on the sages, salvia, from its Latin name, to heal. They belong to a genus of plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. The West is well known for its beautiful desert sages. But no matter where you live, culinary sage is one of the aromas associated with the fall. Sage is typically used in cooking, especially poultry, but is also an aromatic added to many soups.
White Sage (salvia apiana) Fantastic Deva for purification and spiritual cleansing. It is the sage most often used in Native American rituals, for smudging - if for some reason it is not appropriate to burn the actual herb, then misting with a hydrosol of this essence will do the job. Wonderful cleanser for the body, mind and spirit. Beneficial for sore throats, blood pressure and psoriasis. Joy has written an article, which appeared in Key Magazine, a periodical from Phoenix, about how sage hydrosols (look forward to our future article featuring hydrosols) can be used instead of burning sage when doing ceremony out on the red rocks, here in Sedona.
True sage (salvia officinalis) is anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti inflammatory, astringent and anti-spasmodic. It helps in dealing with grief and depression, stimulates appetite, stimulates the lymphatic system and is said to help ease a sore throat too.
Clary sage (salvia sclarea) is most well known for its beneficial effects for women during menopause, soothing hot flashes. It is also been shown to be beneficial for digestion as well as a mood elevator.
